In First Grade, students will focus on reading fluency and comprehension, phonics, and writing skills. Reading level groups are an integral part of our instructional curriculum. We will continue to use Firstie Math, McGraw-Hill Reading and the Shurley English curriculums.
Science will be also taught in units based on the Next Generation Science Standards. First Grade will use a Standards-based report card. This allows us to track the growth of each student throughout the school year. Specialized scheduled activities are listed below:
